to sell, promote, educate or entertain? Who is your
target audience and what do they want from your site?
What are your expectations and are there any limitations
on those expectations? As a team we can establish the
look, feel and function of the project, leading to a
satisfying experience for all involved.
Interface
Design & Site Planning
Building a Web site, a successful Web
site, is a process of research, planning, development
and testing. The way the user moves about the site,
the navigational elements, and the ease in locating
information sought, in addition to the content and style,
determine repeat use of a Web site. Detailed attention
to the user interface and planning the flow of pages
is always a prime concern when Casa Indigo develops
a Web site.
Content
It
is up to the client to provide the content for their
Web site; they best know their product or service. Promotional
materials already developed by the client can generally
be incorporated into the site with some adjustment.
If tweeking the copy is the only issue, it is handled
in-house. However, if the client requires further assistance
in this area Casa Indigo can enlist the services
of a copy writer with whom we have an established relationship.
Web
Ready Graphics
Whenever possible Casa Indigo utilizes graphics
provided by the client, i.e. logos, photographs, etc.,
converting them to Web friendly images. However, should
the site need custom artwork, static or animated, our
artistic staff is well equipped to handle the task.
Flash,
a start-of-the-art authoring technology offered by Macromedia,
is an option to consider for spot animation, site navigation
or a totally interactive, Flash-driven Web presence.
The creation of applications in Flash is more graphic
and programming intensive than standard site
development. However, if used strategically, the Flash
feature can be well worth the investment of added resources.
Site
Promotion
Once
your Web site is built, tested and finally launched
Casa Indigo can handle registering the site with
the leading search engines. Meta tags and keywords are
always incorporated into the pages for ease of searching.
Or at the client's option, we will provide education
in the registration process. Inclusion in Casa Indigo's
client portfolio also serves as a promotional tool;
and for
less formal Web sites, depending on the content, joining
a Web Ring may be an additional option.
Maintenance
From
time to time the content of your Web site will need
to be updated. Casa Indigo offers maintenance
services to our clients on an 'as needed' basis. We
can be contracted to provide regular updates; or if
the client decides to handle simple changes in-house,
instruction in maintenance how-to will be provided.
And when time comes for a whole new look, Casa Indigo
again stands at the ready.
